WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO

a response to modern COMIC BOOKS

OUR MISSION

Our mission at BAM! Comix is a simple one; to bring you high-quality, entertaining comic books, filled with action and intelligence, without catering to the politically correct MESSAGE (hat tip, Will Jordan).   Mainstream comic books are agenda driven now, and their writers and publishers are wholly subservient to the agenda.  Every title is a sermon, preaching the virtues of the agenda and what it sees as the sins of days gone by.

BAM! is not an attempt to return to the past.  Yesterday is gone, baby, and there is no more room in good comic books for sentimental nostalgia than there is for virtue signaling.  But there is plenty of room for character driven, action laden story telling that leaves sermons in churches and politics to the pundits.  And that is where we believe the future lies.  We hope you join us as we stumble our way forward into that future.

Who we are

We’re just a couple of normal guys who got tired of watching idiots tear our favorite heroes to shreds and then drop a deuce on the remains.  Rather than wait for someone else to write and illustrate the kind of stories we wanted to read, we decided to write and illustrate them ourselves.  Michael Brown is the writer and creative genius behind BAM!, and David Cowles is the artist and visionary genius.  Between the two of us, we have spent years of our lives reading and loving comic books.  This is the first time either of us have tried to make one.
